The port on the Wesel-Datteln Canal in the north of the site consists of an area of about 5 and an area of about 2.5 hectares. It will be preserved and can be used for the turnover of goods in the area; it is to be taken over by the port and shipping office.
gate.ruhr uses the existing infrastructure of the site with its industrial tradition. The site has trimodal connections via water, road and railway.
